Halifax District RCMP investigates fire at elementary school, Beaver Bank, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a fire that occurred at Monarch Drive Elementary School in Beaver Bank over the weekend.

At approximately 6:55 a.m. on August 2, Halifax Fire and Halifax District RCMP received a call that a portable classroom was on fire at Monarch Drive Elementary School in Beaver Bank.

Both agencies were dispatched to the scene and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The rear portion of the portable classroom, as well as the wooden staircase and ramp, suffered considerable damage in the fire. Police do not have any suspects identified at this time, and the investigation is continuing.
