RCMP apprehend man for three overnight robberies, Tantramar Marsh, N.S.

Nova Scotia RCMP, with the assistance of New Brunswick RCMP, have arrested a man after a string of overnight robberies in Coldbrook, Falmouth and Lower Truro early this morning.

Nova Scotia RCMP, with the assistance of New Brunswick RCMP, have arrested a man after a string of overnight robberies in Coldbrook, Falmouth and Lower Truro early this morning.

At 1:52 a.m. Kings District RCMP responded to a robbery at the Sobeys Fast Fuel in Coldbrook and at 2:15 a. m. Windsor District RCMP responded to a robbery at the Circle K in Falmouth. In both these incidents, the suspect pumped fuel and then entered the store, jumped over the counter and took a quantity of money and cigarettes.

A third robbery call came in at 4:01 a.m. when Colchester District RCMP responded to a robbery at the Shell gas station on Robie Street in Lower Truro. The suspect took a quantity of cash and cigarettes. In all three incidents, the suspect fled in a grey Jeep Liberty. No one was injured and no weapon was seen.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. the suspect vehicle was reported passing through the Cobequid Toll Plaza, heading toward Amherst on Hwy 104. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was located and was stopped after a brief pursuit near the provincial border. The driver and sole occupant was taken into police custody.

A 19-year-old Cambridge man is facing numerous charges under the criminal code related to Robbery and Breach of an Undertaking. The man is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court this afternoon.

The investigation is continuing.
