The provincial government has announced that they are conducting a feasibility study into adding a truck lane to the CN rail corridor that runs into downtown Halifax.  More..

 

They are also looking at the possibility of allowing Metro Transit to use the corridor as well.  From the CP article:

 

“MacIsaac said the study will indicate the exact price tag on the project, though in earlier estimates the changes to the rail corridor have been estimated at about $80 million.”
