Help Out of the Cold, Halifax’s emergency winter shelter, find a new space to call home for the 2019-20 season.

With both drop-in and overnight components to the shelter, Out of the Cold has a few items on its wish-list that would make a space ideal to support guests:

Space for 15 beds
Minimum of two bathrooms
Kitchen
Hang-out space separate from the sleeping area
Location accessible by bus
Accessible for mobility aids

The Out of the Cold organizing team has been exploring numerous options throughout Halifax. If you have an idea regarding a great potential home for Out of the Cold, please let us know. Email halifaxwintershelter@gmail.com

We recognize and are thankful for the incredible support of St. Matthew’s United Church, which provided a space for the shelter over the previous years. And, as always, we are grateful for the partners, funders, supporters and volunteers of Out of the Cold who have helped us help people experiencing homelessness and precarious housing for the past 11 years.

Details about our upcoming season will be shared as they become available. Thank you for your support and patience as we make this transition.
