Highway 289 closed as RCMP investigate fatal collision, Middle Stewiacke, N.S.

The RCMP would like to advise the motoring public that traffic is being diverted on highway 289 between Brenton Cross Road and South Branch Road in Middle Stewiacke until further notice.

At 9:26 a.m, Colchester RCMP along with Emergency Health Services and the Brookfield Fire Department responded to a collision involving a small car and a pick-up truck. The male driver and sole occupant of the small car has passed away at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the pick-up truck is being transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injures.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation and an RCMP Traffic Analyst has been called in to assist with the investigation.
