Hundreds March In Downtown Halifax On Saturday

Calling it a  “War On The Poor”, hundreds of protesters filled the streets of Downtown Halifax on Saturday to protest low wages, lack of affordable housing and childcare.

Jennifer Taplin over at Metro Halifax has a good writeup on the story:

“After the rally in Victoria Park, they marched down Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street and paused outside of the Emera building. There they spoke out on the 9.4 per cent rate hike by Nova Scotia Power.

Then they continued the march, escorted by police, to Province House.”
