July giveaway – enter to win a diaper cake!

(This month for our giveaway we have a guest blog post from Lynette of My Moms View – a giveaway and product review in one! Thanks Lynette and Hannah!)

Hi everyone – my name is Lynette and I am from Halifax. I have a review and giveaway blog that features a new review and giveaway (or two) every single day. If you like to win prizes, you have to check it out. The website is mymomsview.com.

Here is a little taste of what My Moms View is all about. I have a giveaway for all of you to enter – it is for a diaper cake by local business Baby Cakes.

Baby diaper cake It’s hard to know what expecting parents have or don’t have when purchasing a baby shower gift for the new bundle that is on the way. I received about 40 blankets when my daughter was born, ok a little bit of an exaggeration, but in all reality, I did receive at least 20 more than I needed. I do appreciate all the blankets I received and have been able to use them all at least once. One thing that parents can always use is diapers. I remember people used to have diaper parties rather than baby showers! But 50 packages of diapers can be a little bit boring I guess – although they will all be used. So, I would say that diapers are a very smart practical gift, but maybe a little bit boring. Well, they used to be boring. There is no need for the most useful gift to be boring anymore, because diaper cakes are the latest and greatest modern way to present this great gift to expecting parents.

One local place to get your diaper cakes is Baby Cakes, made by Hannah in Beaverbank. She makes affordable and very stylish diaper cakes. I received a 3 tiered Winnie the Pooh diaper cake from Hannah. It just so happened that Hannah sent me the Winnie the Pooh cake – my cousin who is expecting any day now has a Winnie the Pooh baby theme, so it almost was a no brainier to give the gift for her to test out. But before we got to test it out at the party, it was in the back of my husband’s car for a few days. My husband said everyone was talking to him about the cake, whether going through a drive-thru or just walking to his car in a parking lot with people next to him seeing the cake.

Now onto the party. The diaper cake by Hannah was by far the most beautiful gift among the other wrapped items and gifts in bags. The diaper cake is quite tall so it stood up above all the rest and there was no need to wrap it because it comes wrapped in cellophane. All the party guests were commenting on how beautiful and professional the cake looked. The cake came with 45 diapers (name brand diapers), all tightly wrapped up, a matching onesie, a pair of booties, and a bib all in the Winnie the Pooh theme. Each tier was wrapped up with a matching brown ribbon. Of course my cousin was thrilled, and so was her husband, along with all the other guests. It also made me feel pretty special to give such a thoughtful and special gift too.

Hannah will make custom cakes or gender neutral cakes as well. There are so many options, there is sure to be something for everyone. The 3 tiered cake is I received is only $40. This is a very very affordable price for such a lovely gift.

Hannah also has emergency kits. These cute little baskets have 10 diapers, cream, a pacifier, baby powder, washcloths and soap. All the essentials needed for a quick clean up all in one convenient place. I also received one of these for review, and once again it was a hit at the party. The little basket can be used later to store things and organize all your baby essentials. The white basket came wrapped up in matching white toile. For only $15, this is a great gift as well.

If you are looking for something extra special as a gift for a shower or for new parents, diapers cakes and emergency kits are something that parents can use and will really appreciate, and you will feel good giving.
