Local police officers and children partner for 13th annual CopShop
The 13th annual CopShop, presented by Halifax Shopping Centre and Halifax Regional Police (HRP), took place wednesday, December 6, at Halifax Shopping Centre.
For the event, 60 HRP officers/staff will became personal shoppers to 51 local children as they set out for a special shopping spree.

Somewhere in the middle — and that's okay.
Each child received a $200 gift card generously donated by Halifax Shopping Centre, a stocking filled with goodies and a new winter coat from Sport Chek.
In the spirit of giving, Halifax Shopping Centre also gave each shopping duo a $10 gift card to help pay it forward; the CopShop participant purchased a gift for a child the same age, which the mall will then donate to the Salvation Army Toy Drive.
The busy day:
11:00 a.m. – Children and officers meet in The Terrace (food
court) at Halifax Shopping Centre for pairing
11:15 a.m. – Deputy Chief McNeil addresses the crowd
Santa distributes stockings and gift cards
11:30 a.m. – Children and officers eat lunch before shopping
