Man and woman restrained during home invasion

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a home invasion that occurred at a home in Upper Tantallon.

On January 1, 2024, at approximately 11:47 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion in Upper Tantallon. RCMP officers learned that two men entered the home and restrained a man and a woman. The suspects then took several items including cash before fleeing.

The victims were able to free themselves and contact police. The victims were not physically injured and were the only occupants of the home.

A vehicle was located a short time later on Hwy. 103 near exit 2. The vehicle was seized and will be processed by the RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

Halifax District RCMP members, assisted by the Halifax Regional Police, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.

The suspects were wearing ski masks and dark coloured hoodies, one man is described as being 6-foot-3 and the other one 5-foot.
