HRP release:
Police have charged a man in relation to a number of thefts and robberies that occurred in Dartmouth last week.
On October 29, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a theft at Bass Pro Shops, located at 50 Cabela Road. A man entered the business, stole merchandise then fled to a waiting vehicle.
On October 31, at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Circle K Irving at 10 Highfield Park Drive. A man, who indicated he had a weapon, entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cigarettes.
On November 1, at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at Needs Convenience located at 100 Highfield Park Drive. A man with a knife entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
On November 1, at approximately 5:55 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at Triple N Convenience located at 187 Windmill Rd . A man with a knife entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
On November 2, at approximately 4:34 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Ultramar located at 640 Windmill Road. A man, with what is believed to be a firearm, entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cigarettes.
On November 2, officers located the suspect at a residence on Yorkshire Avenue in Dartmouth. The man was arrested in relation to the above incidents and a parole suspension warrant at approximately 9:15 p.m. without incident and officers seized a replica firearm.
Daniel Gregory Roach, 26, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face charges of:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Robbery (x3)
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace (x3)
- Threats (x2)
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
