Man jumps out of car, threatens another with a gun

A man and woman face charges after an incident last night in Halifax.
 
At 5:15 p.m. police responded to the 600 block of the Bedford Highway in relation to a threats complaint. It was reported that a man and woman pulled up in a vehicle and the man got out of the car, pointed a gun and threatened a man known to him. The victim was not injured and the couple left the area. Officers located the couple a short while later and both were arrested without incident.
 
A search of the vehicle resulted in a small quantity of marijuana being seized. The Firearms Enforcement Unit conducted a search of a residence in the 600 block of the Bedford Highway and seized a quantity of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a conducted energy weapon.
 
A 36-year-old Halifax man faces the following charges:
 
5 (2) CDSA – Drug Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
4 (1) CDSA – Drug Possession
264.1 (1) C.C – Uttering Threats (2 counts)
91 (2) CC – Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
86 (1) CC – Careless use of a Firearm
87 (1) CC – Pointing a Firearm
90 CC – Carrying a Concealed Weapon
94 (1) CC – Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
85 (1)(a) CC – Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
88 (1) CC – Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (2 counts)
 
A 32-year-old Halifax woman faces the following charges:
 
5 (2) CDSA – Drug Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
91 (2) CC – Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
94 (1) CC – Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
88 (1) – Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (2 counts)
733.1 (1)(a) CC – Breach of Probation
 
Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
