Police have completed the investigation into the death of a woman that occurred at a Halifax nursing home last month.

On October 5 at 9:24 p.m., police responded to Evan Hall, a memory care facility operated by Parkland Clayton Park, located at 156 Parkland Drive in Halifax for an assault that had occurred earlier in the evening. The investigation revealed that a 74-year-old woman got into an altercation with a 91-year-old woman. The 91-year-old woman fell to the floor during the altercation and sustained serious injuries. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS where she passed away on October 6.

Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit have completed their investigation and, in consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, have determined that charges will not be laid in this case.
