Police Charge Halifax Doctor with Sexual Assault

Investigators in the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a Halifax doctor in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in March 2015 in Halifax after it was reported to police in October 2015.

A 17-year-old male had attended the Victoria General Hospital site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre at 5820 University Avenue on March 18 of last year to undergo a medical procedure. After the procedure, the doctor touched the young man in a sexual manner over his clothing.

Investigators have charged 64-year-old Dr. Nebojsa Sparavalo of Halifax with sexual assault and sexual exploitation. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on April 7, 2016 to answer to the charges.
