[Updated] Police Investigate Suspicious Circumstance – Dartmouth

HRP reports receiving a call from the gentleman who gave the toy to the young girl. Police interview revealed that the toy was given in kindness and there was no malicious intent. The girl’s parents were notified of the of the results of the investigation.

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man after he offered a toy to a child, last night in Dartmouth.

At 7:19 pm, last night, from the 100 block of Dorothea DR in Dartmouth a parent contacted HRP to report a suspicious male had given a toy to her 5 year old daughter.  The child was sitting  on the front steps of her home, when a man got out of his vehicle and approached the young girl and  asked her if she wanted a toy because he was going to throw it away. The girl did not say anything to the man, he left the toy near the steps and then drove away.

The man is described as a white male, 45-50 years of age,  heavy build with a belly, 5″8-5″10, and wearing a plaid button up jacket.  The vehicle he was driving was described as a possibly being a tan  Mazda or Honda.

Investigators are asking the man who offered the girl a toy or anyone who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5020.
