RCMP Police Dog locates injured man

Pictou District RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 4 in Salt Springs after a concerned resident called about an unoccupied vehicle over an embankment.

Prior to 11 p.m. last evening, the damaged vehicle was located approximately 100 meters from the highway in a heavily wooded area. Initially, no one could be located in or around the vehicle. RCMP Police Dog Services attended and located an injured 19-year-old man further in the woods. With the assistance of the West River Fire Department, the male was transported out of the woods and then on to the Aberdeen Hospital by EHS with serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
