Halifax District RCMP arrested a 25-year-old man involved in an injury collision yesterday in Lower Sackville.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Lower Sackville Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Sackville Drive at the intersection of Rosemary Drive.

Preliminary investigation determined that a Chevrolet vehicle traveling east with three older female occupants collided head on with a westbound BMW vehicle with one male occupant. The women were taken to the QEII Hospital by EHS with moderate injuries while the man was transported to the Cobequid Hospital with minor injuries.

A preliminary search of the BMW involved in the collision allowed RCMP to locate and seize ammunition, a rifle, some drugs and money. The driver of the BMW, who was prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and taken into custody upon release from hospital. Subsequent investigation conducted by the RCMP/HRP Integrated Drug unit led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Middle Sackville. During that search, police seized a rifle, shotgun, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Adam Blakeney, 25, from Middle Sackville is facing several weapons and drug charges, he is expected to appear in Dartmouth Provincial court this morning. The investigation is continuing.
