RCMP Traffic Services plan for busy Thanksgiving Weekend

RCMP Traffic Services plan for busy Thanksgiving Weekend Operation Impact is a four day road safety campaign meant to deter impaired, aggressive and distracted drivers that begins tomorrow, October 7, 2011 and continues throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.

Operation Impact is an annual collaborative effort by Canadian Police Services to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world. Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) across the Nova Scotia will be conducting checkpoints to enforce the main causes of serious injury and fatal collisions – alcohol and drug impaired driving, seat belt use and all aspects of aggressive and distracted driving.

The RCMP would like to remind the public that everyone has a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Please buckle up, slow down, and do not drive while distracted or impaired.
