**** RCMP Media Release

On May 25 at 2:21 a.m., Cumberland District RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Southampton Rd. in West Amherst. The RCMP was assisted by members of Amherst Police Department. The passenger was transported by LifeFlight to Halifax for further medical treatment. An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to examine the scene, and as a result, Southampton Rd. was closed for several hours and traffic was re-routed. The road was re-opened to traffic at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Cumberland District RCMP is continuing its investigation into this incident.
