Slash wounds, sprained ankle after fight in Downtown Halifax

 

Police have arrested two men after an early morning fight in Downtown Halifax.

At 3:50 am this morning central members responded to a report of males fighting in the area of Blowers and Argyle street.  Two victims were located suffering from injuries.  A 22 year old male had a sprained ankle and a 20 year old male had a slash wound to his  abdomen believed to be caused by a knife.  Both were taken to the QE II and are expected to be released this morning.  Another three victims were located at the scene.  These three were witnesses to the first incident and attempted to intervene.  One of the suspects produced a knife and advanced towards the three males, uttered threats and  punched two of them in the face. 
 
  Police arrested a 25 year old Fall River man at the scene and a 22 year old Herring Cove man.
 
  The 25 year old male will be facing several charges including 3 x’s assault with a weapon, 3 x’s assault, 3x’s utter death threats and numerous breach’s of court orders.  He will appear in Halifax Provincial court later this afternoon.
 
The investigation is ongoing and will have the involvement of GIS later this morning.  Additional charges may be laid.
