Upper Tantallon business victimized in theft

In the overnight hours between November 11 and November 12, a hardware store in Upper Tantallon was the target of a break, enter and theft in which a large amount of merchandise was stolen. Among the items stolen were power tools and air tools.

Police would like to advise residents to keep this incident in mind should they be considering purchasing power or air tools secondhand or via the internet. The investigation is being conducted by the Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS).

Investigators believe it would have taken a significant amount of time for the thieves to remove this amount of merchandise from the store, and are asking the public for assistance to identify the person(s) responsible. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at 902 490 5020. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
