We haven’t had cable/satellite/pheasant-view for a year but that doesn’t mean we don’t have Disney Junior on the living room TV like most families with young children! No, we don’t have 200 channels to click through but what we do have and make great use of, is my laptop and an HDMI cord in order to watch www.disneyjunior.ca or DVDS on the big TV instead of the laptop.
Everyday before breakfast or during quiet time we watch our favorite shows on the Disney Junior website, including Stella & Sam, Imagination Movers and the show that my 4 year old is always asking to watch? Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
As a Disney Junior Mom I have access to sneak peaks of new shows and lots of other fun perks for a mommie with little ones. And a few perks were definitely needed during the month of March because it was a looooong, hard month. Not only is it the last month of winter where everyone is feeling some intense cabin fever, also our entire family was sick for 3 weeks of the month which made for some very grumpy children and parents. A lot of time was spent in front of the TV because none of us had the energy to do much of anything else! So when a sneak peak of Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns arrived at my door along with news of Jake entering it’s 2nd season it was beautiful. One boy was napping and the other was having his quiet time resting cozy in bed next to me watching one of his favorite shows.
Aidan is mostly not napping anymore at 4.5 years old so during his little brother’s nap time, he’ll usually lounge on the couch and watch a few shows. This is his “quiet time” and usually the only time the TV/iPAD/laptop is turned on.
When the shows are over he’ll keep busy with the brand-new online games at www.disneyjunior.ca. Some of Aidan’s favorite Jake games are Pirate Rock and Plundering Pup . There are TONS of games on the website for your little ones to play and you can even search by show. For example, here is the entire collection of Jake and the Never Land Pirates games and activities.
Disclosure: I’m part of the Disney Junior Mom program and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
