Valentine’s Day stackable Mugs recalled due to fire hazard

This recall involves both models of Mugs in the Valentine’s Day collection. The affected Mugs are stackable, deep pink and dark blue Mugs.
Hazard identified: An error occurred during the translation of the French version of the product’s labelling into English.  The English version indicates that the Mugs are microwave safe, even if they are not. Mugs can produce sparks when placed in the microwave, which can cause a fire hazard. As of April 17 2019, two incidents have been reported to the company. In both cases, sparks occurred when the cup was placed in the microwave. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop placing the recalled Valentine’s Day stackable mugs in the microwave and contact Les Thés DAVIDsTEA for a refund.

  • If the mug was purchased in the store, consumers should go to the store to receive a refund.
  • If the purchase was made online, consumers should contact customer service at the telephone number and email address listed below.

For more information, consumers may contact Les Thés DAVIDsTEA Ville de Mont Royal at 1-855-702-3006, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST) Monday to Sunday, or send an email
