Weekend Traffic Advisory

Halifax Parade Square Christmas Tree
Halifax Regional Police is issuing a traffic advisory in relation to the Halifax Tree Lighting ceremony and the Spryfield Santa Claus Parade which are both being held this weekend.
 
On Saturday between 6 – 7 p.m., the Halifax Christmas Tree Lighting festivities will take place at Grand Parade in downtown Halifax. This popular event draws many spectators to the downtown core and motorists should expect delays when travelling in the area due to increased vehicle and pedestrian. Argyle Street from Duke Street to Carmichael Street will be closed from 5 – 7:30 p.m.
 
On Sunday, the 37th Annual Spryfield Santa Claus Parade will be held from 2 – 5 p.m. The parade will start on Punch Bowl Drive, travel along Herring Cove Road and end at the Spryfield Lion’s Rink on Drysdale Road. Punch Bowl Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic the day of the parade for parade staging and motorists are advised to expect delays as the parade makes its way along the route.
