Woman suffers serious injuries in motor vehicle collision

On May 27 at 8:25 p.m. Halifax District RCMP responded to a single vehicle accident on highway 102, between exit 3 and 4. Investigation determined that a red Chevrolet Cobalt was in the northbound lane heading away from Halifax when it suddenly veered to the right, off the road, and into the ditch. The vehicle flipped over and landed on its roof.

A 58-year-old woman, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was removed from the vehicle by the Fire Department and EHS. She was transported to the QE2 hospital with serious, but non life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or has any information about it, to call the RCMP at 490-5020.
