Yarmouth County RCMP responded to a single vehicle tractor trailer collision that sent one man to hospital earlier today.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., RCMP and Emergency Health Services, as well as Eel Brook, Yarmouth and Pubnico Fire Departments, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 308 near Armstrong Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the lone occupant of the tractor trailer lost control of his vehicle and rolled over into the ditch. The 42-year-old man from the Barrington area, who was pinned under the truck for approximately 30 minutes, was extricated using the Jaws of Life. He was then transported to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.

The cause of the crash has not been determined and the investigation is continuing.
